Home grown potatoes

Last of the charlotte potatoes

The batches of home grown potatoes have served us well and we’re now onto the last of the charlotte potatoes. These are without saying, delicious and i’m still happy to eat them boiled and seasoned with a little butter and salt.

The potatoes have been used in other creations of course, such as Delia’s tortilla espanola.

The potatoes have been one of the most successful crops from a poor season. I grew 3 of each types in their own plastic potato ‘sack’. The sacks are now empty, i’ve removed the dead plants and planting out leeks, lettuce and broccoli.

Here is what the leaves looked like towards the end, yellow and spotted.
